I rather like Alan Embree, although his last appearances were disappointing and caused his ERA to inflate.. With such promising lefty relievers like Jerry "Big Relief" Blevins, Ron Flores and Dan Meyer's relief appearances looked good..maybe Alan Embree's days with the A's are numbered..

Still, I think we should hear what he is thinking with regard to a one year contract. read more »

I know it's a small sample size, but Barton seems to have more power potential than he showed in the minors. Part of his success may be due to his facing a lot of call-up pitchers, but that jack off Schilling was a rocket. As long as he keeps his occasional bad attitude under wraps, I don't see why he can't be the answer at first for years.

The way I see it is we have 2 guaranteed spots in the OF. Swisher and Buck.

What presents the problems is Kotsay and Cust. If Kotsay plays Cust has to DH. If he Dh's that means Barton or Johnson has to sit. So what is everyons solution? Does Kotsay sit the bench, does Johnson get traded? Does Buck, Swisher, or Cust get traded?

In my mind Cust plays LF. Swisher plays CF, and Buck plays RF. read more »
