This guy is due to throw a no-hitter someday; he was outstanding last night & the only thing that kept him from going the distance in K.C. was his calf muscle tightening up on him. Twice now this year he' taken a no-no through six innings, the last time he was on a pitch count & had to leave the game, the Jays ended up losing to Tampa Bay.

I strongly believe that Johnny Mac should be the starting SS next year. None of the FA's (except Eckstein) would be a significant upgrade over him, and he wants to stay. He's just really fun to watch, he has a great attitude, he's been hitting pretty well, and he's the best bunter on the team, all on top of the fact that he's a defensive marvel out there every night. I was excited to see this guy come up in September. He's got a great arm behind the plate and is tearing it up at the plate in Triple A (.338 average in 19 games). He played well in Double A as well (.316 average in 74 games). I think he's going to be a solid catcher one day.

Before the year even started I said that the Jays wouldn't win anything with a Triple A catcher ie Zahn. At-bats like his last one are a prime example of what I am talking about. It's dsad to watch.

Edwin Jackson: Gustave Chacin and Jesse Litsch for Jackson and a prospect? Jackson has amazing top of the rotation stuff but he is plagued by control and problems and inconsistency, Tampa Bay might be ready to give him up for two young pitchers that have alreay shown success at the major league level. I think he is ready to breakout.
