If the new GM is hired on Monday, I could possibly imagine him meeting with Jim Tracy this week, and informing him of the plans for 2008. Plans which I think do not include Tracy, and his staff with the Pirates. read more »

After watching him for 2 weeks (I know it's only 2 weeks); I believe that he is capable of stepping in right now as a regular.
He probably has the best plate discipline of anyone on the team. He knows the strike zone and he refuses to help the pitcher out by swinging at pitches that are outside the plate. He is hitting .286 but the outs that he has made have been hit very hard. I like the fact read more »

Does anyone else think that he should be starting more games behind the dish?

He seems to have a clue at the plate. It would be nice to see him in the lineup more often.

Paul Maholm gave up 10 hits in 2 innings today. Why?

This is the second game in a row where Paul has been blasted and left in there by The Unaccountable Jim Tracy to take a beating.

Why?

Maholm is coming off of an injury. He was pitching well prior to that. And the bullpen is loaded with September call-ups.
